The Truth about Hair Miniaturization You Must Know

Hair miniaturization causes damage to hair by making it smaller and finer. Hair miniaturization can have many reasons. Changes in the metabolism or in the external environment can have their effects on hair. The hair follicles respond to the changes in our diet, drugs, health, stress level and living environment, which may result in miniaturization of hair. Deterioration of the hair follicle from pollutants and toxins also lead to miniaturization. However, researchers opine that miniaturization occurs mostly because of genetic reasons. This problem often passes on to generation from generation.

The body produces certain hormones that trigger hair miniaturization. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), an aromatization by-product of testosterone has a major role in causing miniaturization. DHT in body increases as men approach adulthood. It results in androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness, where the follicles cease producing healthy hair. The hair becomes shorter, thinner and more brittle.

One way of treating androgenetic alopecia is to inject cells to reverse miniaturization. In this process, artificially implanted cells

integrate with resident hair follicles to help them produce healthy hair. People in the early stages of androgenetic alopecia can benefit from this method. The implanted cells boost the hair follicles in miniaturization to bring them back into a productive state.

The resident hair follicle structures work as a guide for the implanted cells in this method. The damaged natural hair follicles provide the distribution pattern and the orientation angle. The injected dermal papilla cells on the other hand, provide large, terminal hair follicles. This method is devoid of the problem of inconsistent follicle orientation and distribution over the skin.

People in the early stages of baldness could significantly benefit from this method of cell injection. Young men and women having a family history of androgenetic alopecia can inject cells in advance to avoid miniaturization.
